What to Expect at a Worship Service

During most of the year, our services are held in our beautiful Sanctuary.  During the summer months, we meet in Shilton Hall, which is air- conditioned.

On arrival, you will be greeted by a member of our congregation.  If you feel comfortable doing so, please introduce yourself as a guest or visitor, and let them know anything that you might need to make your worship with us more comfortable.  You will then be welcomed by an Usher, who will help you find seating.  The Usher will also give you a Bulletin for the service, which will indicate readings, prayers and hymns.  Printed copies of our weekly e-newsletter are also available.

Our sanctuary has a projection system which displays announcements, information from the bulletin, along with the words for most of the hymns, above the doors at the front of the sanctuary.

Before and after the service, our pianist or organist usually provides music.  This is a time for personal reflection, or to visit quietly.

Soon after our service begins, we have a time for “Sharing the Peace”.  People are invited to stand and greet one another with “the Peace of Christ”.  Some shake hands, some do fist bumps, others just nod or smile – do whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Social Times

C&C Cafe - Before services (10:00 a.m.) join us for Coffee and Conversation in Shilton Hall.

Fellowship Time - After services (11:30 a.m.)  please join us for Fellowship Time in Shilton Hall, with coffee, tea, and cold drinks, and other refreshments.

These are wonderful opportunities to meet the minister, chat with members and ask questions.
Library

We have a well stocked Library found on the 2nd floor, with a wide variety of spiritual and topical reading material.  Books can be signed out at any time and returned to the drop through box just inside the door.  There is also a collection of seasonal books available in the bookshelf in Shilton Hall.
