There are many ways to make a financial contribution to St. John's, either as a one time gift, or as a regular donation or offering.  For larger donations or bequests, please see our Legacy Fund information below.


One Time Gifts


E-transfer to:  Treasurer@stjohnsalliston.ca

Set up an e-transfer through your online banking site to the Treasurer at St. John's United Church (see above).



Cheque

Mail your cheque to St. John's United Church, 56 Victoria St. E., Alliston ON  L9R 1L5


Online donation


Use the Donate Now button below to make a payment by credit card or Paypal.  Canada Helps charges the church a 4% administration fee but you can indicate if you would like to include this fee in your donation.  Canada Helps will issue your charitable donation receipt.


Regular Offerings


PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance)

Complete a PAR Authorization Form and give it to the Office Administrator or Treasurer. You can indicate on the form how much your gift will be, and how you wish to have it allocated.  This can be changed anytime.

St. John’s Legacy Fund

 

Bequests and other planned gifts without restrictions are directed to St. John’s Legacy Fund to help meet the present and emerging needs of our community of faith, and mission work that is carried out within the community, throughout Canada and around the world. 


Unrestricted gifts will be disbursed in accordance with St. John’s Planned Gift Policy:  ten percent will be used for immediate needs and the remaining ninety percent will be directed to the St. John’s Legacy investment account. Annual interest earned from this fund will be deposited to the church bank account to be disbursed as determined by St. John’s Church Council. 


Donors who wish to make a restricted gift are encouraged to consult with the Minister, Church Council Chair, Treasurer or Stewardship Committee Chair in advance. Gifts that arrive with restrictions attached will be considered by the Stewardship Committee who will make a recommendation to the Church Council regarding acceptance.


All gifts to the Legacy Fund must support the Mission, Vision and Values of St. John’s United Church, Alliston, Ontario and will be in accordance with the guidelines of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).


To make a donation to the Legacy Fund, or to make a gift of stocks or securities, please contact the Treasurer.
